The police are looking for a cyclist who they say incited a crowd to trash a car in NoHo during Fashion Week last Thursday night and a young man who they say jumped on the car and broke several of its windows. The police released a photo and video of the suspects late Tuesday.
The mayhem unfolded at Broadway and Bleecker Street around 11 p.m. Thursday, when an Audi and its driver were forced to a halt in the intersection, in part by the cyclist blocking the car's path. A witness told Gothamist that the driver ânearly hit a bicyclistâ in the intersection.
The cyclist has an extended appearance in this video, starting at about 2 minutes and 45 seconds, in which he delivers a taunting monologue to the driver. The driver, identified by The New York Post and Gothamist as Mitchell Levine, was apparently uninjured. Two people were arrested after the incident, Gothamist reports.
Anyone with information about either sus pect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers - by phone (800-577-8477) or text (text to 274637 and enter TIP577 before the information), or by visiting the Web site.
