Dear Diary:
Several years ago, while visiting New York, I decided to go window-shopping along Madison Avenue while my friend was at a dentist appointment nearby.
I had walked several blocks when a spectacular diamond necklace in the window of Ivanka Trump's boutique stopped me in my tracks. I lingered there, studying it, and smiled at the security guard and the lady in black inside, who had noticed my interest.
I was stunned when the door opened and I was invited into the boutique. Moments later, the necklace I had admired (worth over five times my annual salary) was around my neck, transforming my turtleneck sweater into the finest attire. I savored several minutes of dazzling sparkle, then reluctantly gave the necklace back.
After signing the guest book and being treated to a chocolate truffle served on a silver tray, I left, thanking the lady in black and the security guard profusely. Their kindness chan ged my simple window-shopping walk into a very memorable experience indeed!
