Our friends at the Wildlife Conservation Society have been inundating us with cute baby animal pix lately, and at some point it might be time to call a moratorium, but baby Patagonian Cavy Day is definitely not the time.
These little girls were born nine days ago at the Central Park Zoo to Mara (at left in the photo) and Max. Patagonian cavies are native to the steppes of Argentina and elsewhere in South America and are the world's fourth-largest rodent, reaching heights of about 18 inches.
We're not totally indiscriminate about posting this stuff, though. For instance, we won't subject you to the mini-Nubian goat kids that were born at the zoo two weeks ago.
