By ANDY NEWMAN

Canarsie, Brooklyn, 5:30 a.m. Thursday. A tip to the police: buckets of marijuana in a U.P.S. truck on Farragut Road and East 104th Street.

Detectives found the truck and followed it two blocks to the end of Farragut Road. They saw a man take a package off the truck and put it in a Chrysler minivan, the police said.

The detectives swooped in. The package, the police said, contained three five-gallon buckets of marijuana, net weight 30 pounds (or 480 ounces, or 13,608 grams).

Three men were arrested: the driver of the United Parcel Service truck, Alexis Herv, 52; the man the police say put the marijuana in the minivan, Ruben Jordan, 44; and the driver of the minivan, Donovan Hyde, 58.

The marijuana was confiscated; the investigation, the police said, was continuing.
