Having Trouble at the Polls?

As New Yorkers went to the polls Tuesday to vote in local, congressional and the presidential election, there were widespread reports of lengthy lines and inoperable scanning machines at polling places across the city. Metro political editor Michael Paulson put out a call for response.

At least three scanners were not working at a polling station in Washington Heights, said Louise Schwarz:

And Jonathan Newman, who waited an hour and a half in Harlem, said it was “unaccept able” that the scanners were also broken:

At Riverside Church, Jesse Appelman said his paper ballot was not even scanned:
